Sisters

Happy Monday Everyone!
Special hello to my two newest followers! Welcome and I hope you will visit often. I don't usually have a lot to say but I do love to share my cards.

So today, my younger sister is having knee surgery so I wanted to share the card I made for her. I know she will expect me to make her a card hehe, she is a card maker too but does not have a blog. Her life is extremely busy right now which makes this surgery even a bigger inconvenience. I feel awful for her, I am sure if you have a sibling you know what I mean. I have several siblings, two sisters and one brother, but my younger sister and I are closest in age so probably have the closest relationship too. Although having only one brother you do tend to love him special and my older sister and I get along great too, so I guess I am fortunate.

Of course if you asked me when I was younger if I appreciated my siblings you may have gotten a different answer hahaha! But enough of me rambling, here is my card.

Yup I know, another Sherry Baldy but seriously it just fit the occasion!!!
I colored her with my copics and added some Stickles for fun. I am sure she will love it especially when I bring it to her with some pastry it will be twice as sweet!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.

Aged

Hello Everyone,

So hope you are all well. I am doing fine. So it is spring and with the warm weather fast approaching, I realized that I am not as young as I would like to be hehe! All those great summer fashions seem to be much more appealing on a woman of 30 than a woman of 50 ahem! But anywho, I am hoping that I am aging somewhat gracefully.

My oldest daughter (25 years old) just moved out this week and it has made me realize that at her age, I was already married with one child. So I am feeling a bit old and sentimental this week. I am happy life is good, but I am sad that it goes by so fast. I am sure you are all in agreement, the years just fly on by.

So on my card today I used a Sherry Baldy stamp again (love these), that just reminds me of a glamorous older woman. Maybe it is the hair or the outfit, who knows but I think she is lovely. I colored her in more sepia tones and made it a bit distressed in keeping with the feel of an older generation. Hope you like her!

Sweet Stampin' CAS

Good Morning all my wonderful followers and friends,

Today at Sweet Stampin'we have a new challenge and it is CAS (Clean and Simple). Now this is not one of my favorite things to do since I love, love, love, embellishments and layers. But I will tell you, this type of card can be very quick to do.

We once again have two sponsors, our monthly sponsor:

 Our weekly sponsor is LOTV:

My card:

I used a rubber stamp for the ferns from Creative Imaginations and the sentiment is a rubber stamp from Inkadinkadoo. I used Tim Holtz distress ink and some stickles to add a little extra oomph!
Sorry if the picture is not the best but the colors are very muted.

So anyway this card took about 15 minutes to make but I still prefer to color and have lots, and lots of papers. Hope it does not disappointment my faithful followers lol.

I hope you will have better luck with your CAS cards and give us a whirl, I would love some inspiration from your cards. The rest of the DT did seem to have better luck with their cards, go check them out.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kim

Mother's Day

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. I have a special post today, since this Sunday we celebrate Mother's Day here in America. Well I lost my mom 3 years ago, if any of you lost yours you know it is one of life's difficult moments. But sadly it is the natural progression of things and I celebrate her life many times with wonderful memories that I share with my crazy siblings.

But I am fortunate that I have a mother-in-law who treats me like a daughter. She always has been good to me. She and my father in law now live with my husband and I so you know we are very close. I made her this card using a Sherri Baldy stamp. I thought it was appropriate because that woman is always cleaning, what she is cleaning,  I don't know since there is never a mess in her apartment haha.

I colored her with Copics and used a bit of Stickles for some sparkle. The papers are all from a 6 x 6 pad from My Mind's Eye called Lost and Found.

I hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day and that you have someone in your life that you can share a special moment with on that day. I will celebrate being a mom the best way I know how, by loving my girls to pieces hahahaha!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards:  Mother's Day
Fussy and Fancy Challenge:  anything Goes
Love to Create challenge:  Mom or Special lady
Besties Challenge: Mother's day or Thank you

Thanks for stopping by!

Today is Suzanne's birthday and well, we ALL KNOW, Suzanne would NOT want to celebrate a birthday any other way than with her favorite country star AND a favorite sports star!!!  Right???!!!

And also today, Suzanne's, Color Me Creative Design Team wanted to take a little of her time to show her how much we enjoy, appreciate and love her by hopping along to share a little birthday fun and creativity with her.  Join us in wishing her that the next year is filled with even more memories and love than anyone could ever hope for!

The design team went with a "Teal/Aqua" theme today.  Suzanne had mentioned her desire to "look like a mermaid"... LOL... so heck, we'll play along.  (Old age is old age, peeps... just smile and say... "that's nice, honey." LOL)

Hope you like her Suzanne, I sense the more I get to know you that you love some shoes and some style and so does this sweet little girl from Mo's digital pencil!

Happy Birthday Suzanne and remember I am new to the team so if you are going to point fingers of blame look towards the senior members hahahaha! What a great team to be part of, thanks for having me along and I hope your day is as wonderful as you!

Now hop along with us to enjoy more of the Design Team's creations for Suzanne.

No birthdays!

Hi Everyone,

So this post was suppose to go this morning but I was having troubles with blogger. Would not let me upload any pictures. So had to wait for my daughter the computer whiz to help me out.

So today at Sweet Stampin' it is a new challenge, and it is "Anything But a Birthday". So we all know there are plenty of other occasions which call for cards so let's see them.

We are being sponsored by both our weekly sponsor

and our monthly sponsor.

Here is my card. I  used an adorable image from Mo's digital pencil and colored him with copics.

The dragon fly and clouds are Memory Box dies and the sentiment came with the digital stamp. Hope you like him. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will find the time to enter our challenge. I look forward to seeing  your creations.

Celebrate The good

Hi Everyone,
So I am back from my vacation in Las Vegas. A bit of mixed emotions.  We left for Vegas on Monday, only to get there and find out what happened right here at the Boston Marathon. For those of you who don't know me, I grew up 15 minutes north of Boston. This was awful, how anyone could do this is beyond me. It made me sad to think that a great tradition like the Boston Marathon where runners come from all over the world come to participate will now be tainted with this awful happening. I kept thinking what a terrible world we live in.

Then I started to hear amazing stories of courage, empathy, self sacrifice by ordinary citizens helping one another. I heard it on the news, on facebook and blogs. The compassion was felt all over the world. I started to realize that this world is really not so bad, that the majority of people are caring, kind and considerate. That unfortunately, there are lunatics in the world and there always will be. But what is more important is how we as a whole react to these situations, and I must say that after hearing all these stories I want to celebrate the good in mankind. Not just here in Boston but everywhere around the world, because I know that all of us would do what we could to help anyone in need.

There has been some awful, awful happenings here in the USA the past few months, but the way people come together afterwards, helps us all heal and we know that we will not tolerate this behavior.
So in honor of all of those injured  and killed (my prayers are with you), and all of those who helped in anyway they could, along with the law enforcements and emergency responders, I celebrate your courage and your selfless acts of kindness.

This is my card:

This sweet little girl is from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored her with copics. Of course I used the American red, white and blues to keep it patriotic. Hope you like her. I wanted to celebrate the good in the world.

Thanks for stopping by. I am happy to be home again and hope you are all well and safe.
